April 7, 2018 from 10 am to 2 pm and April 8, 2018 from 11 am to 3 pm:
Integrated Pest Management Advocate  Steven Zien takes his traveling Our Water Our World (OWOW) show across the waters of our local creeks, streams and rivers to area nurseries via kayak due to the heavy rains. The heavy rains and resulting runoff is a great reminder that we need to practice River-Friendly Landscaping and Gardening because synthetic pesticides and fertilizers easily runoff our landscape and gardens with the rain water where it travels directly without any treatment into our local waterways polluting our recreational and drinking water supplies.
Saturday April 7 Steven will peddle (he has a recumbent kayak with peddles) to The Plant Foundry Nursery & Store, 3500 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95817 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Sunday April 8 Steven will fight the high flows on the Sacramento and American Rivers on his journey to the Meadowview Home Depot nursery department at 1461 Meadowview Rd, Sacramento, CA 95832 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Hop into your rafts, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, row boats, jet skis and power boats and moor up at the stores makeshift dock (or be brave and drive your motor car) where you can talk with Steve and learn River-Friendly gardening practices that will yield a beautiful, healthy, pest resistant landscape and garden. You can also get your garden questions and pest problems solved by an expert with over 44 years experience in organic horticulture. If possible bring in a sample of the pest for proper identification. Discover safe methods of managing pests of the garden and home. Head home with the environmentally friendly, organic fertilizers, and pest management tools you need to do the job right! Hope to see you there! Remember to wear your PDF’s (personal flotation device) even if you drive your car, street flooding is possible.
